They do differ a lot in the era they are placed in (the book is taken from Conrads, the authors, personal expiriences as an Ivory runner in Africa, the latter uses the Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia war as a backdrop) but both take a look at the "dark side" of armed conflict and the thin lines that men of war often find themselves dancing on. embora Spec Ops: The Line no seja um dos jogos favoritos de todos os tempos porque a gameplay era bem padro pra poca, tem momentos muito marcantes e uma histria muito boa. You can always go for the book and movie The Line was inspired by, Heart of Darkness and Appcalypse Now! respectively. I'd have to say that The Line is a better cover-TPP then Infinite is a FPP)īut yeah, as for modern military shooters that arent Michael Bay style GO TEAM AMERICA F*#K YEAH style games I cannot think of anything from the top of my head. If you are looking for more broad "human psyche" type explorations with twists in the middle, the *Shock games, maybe with the exception of Bioshock 2 which is only average are a good pick, meaning the System Shocks (the first one is very, very rough around the edges though, be warned), Bioshock 1 and Bioshock Infinite, though the latter is not worth $60 in my book (while still being a very, very good game, the actual gameplay mechancis are very, very weak for a FPP shooter. However, a sudden sandstorm causes the helicopter to crash in the desert. Other helicopters pursue them, which Walker attempts to dispatch with the minigun. ![]() If you are looking for more "war is hell" type games, I have to say that from the top of my head I cannot recommend anything. Spec Ops: The Line will perhaps be always considered as an original piece of work for its unique take on modern warfare and its haunting endings. Spec Ops: The Line The game begins with Walker, 1st Lieutenant Alphonse Adams and Staff Sergeant John Lugo aboard a helicopter piloted by Adams, flying over a ruined Dubai. Unofrunately, The Line is relatively unique in the themes it touches, not unique at all in its gameplay.
